A graduate of UC San Diego (BS Chemical Engineering), Stanford University (MS Materials Science and Engineering), and Northwestern University (MS Data Science), Gus is a highly regarded Math teacher and Test Prep tutor on the San Francisco peninsula, having worked for 20 years in Bay Area Independent schools and operated his own tutoring

With more than 25,000 tutoring hours, Gus has empowered students locally and internationally to reach their fullest potential in their STEM courses and standardized exams, including all levels of middle school and high school mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, HSPT, ISEE, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, AP Physics, and AP Chemistry. He has extensive experience training and supervising tutors and ensuring stellar preparation for college admissions.

In addition to his writing and college admissions expertise as an independent counselor, James has extensive experience developing and directing college admissions prep programs at some of the nations' most prestigious universities. He has mentored countless high school and college students in the U.S. and internationally and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a language arts and writing specialist, program director, and academic and college counseling advisor.
